Brazil Exploration & Investment Tour Recap
HINT: WE ARE SO DOING ANOTHER TOUR HERE
When people see the highlight photos from the Exploration/Investment tours I run, they sometimes think I’m away on holiday.
The beaches, the group dinners, and the once-in-a-lifetime excursions paint that picture, so I get it.
However, the reality?
Running these tours is like doing 14 hours of high-level consulting a day, for eight days straight…
And the Brazil Exploration & Investment Tour we just wrapped was exactly that.
In fact, as I am writing this I’m still here in Brazil and with only a couple of hours before heading to the airport here in Forteleza… and I’ll tell you, I can not wait to get on that plane and crash for what I hope will be the first real rest I’ve had in over a week.
From 8 in the morning until midnight or so every single day, I’ve been “on.”
Answering questions, talking Plan-B strategy and sharing insights with every single tour attendee who joined me on the ground in Brazil.
It was intense, exhausting, yet above all, absolutely incredible and productive.
We kicked things off in a way that few people on earth will ever get to experience… a tour through the Amazon jungle.

Our authentic experience in the Amazon… eye-opening.
The scenery was just unreal.
It’s hard to put into words what it is like walking (and boating) through a part of the world that is so raw, untouched, and so scarcely inhabited.
We swam with dolphins.
We went piranha fishing.
We hiked to visit indigenous communities and saw how they live.
We took a river cruise up and down one of the most legendary waterways on the planet.

Surreal.
Of course, as spectacular as that was, this tour was not a vacation.
The Amazon leg of the tour was our icebreaker… our way to bond as a group before getting into the real work:
The on-the-ground market research & investment analysis in Brazil’s booming Northeast.
We visited 10 different real estate sites, each at a different stage of development.

…and sometimes we got there unconventionally…
Some were just raw, untouched land.
Others had been graded and flattened, ready for construction to begin.
We walked sites where the frames were up, the walls were in, and the roofs were on, but the interiors were still empty shells.
We saw projects where only the landscaping remained before delivery.
And finally, we toured developments that were already complete, rented out, and generating income.
Seeing this entire spectrum is invaluable, as it allows investors like us to invest in a specific project that aligns with the type of returns and payback schedules that are most suitable for our own portfolios.

I can’t overstate the beauty of seeing things firsthand.
It’s one thing to read about a market’s growth; it’s another to stand on the sand and see the progress with your own eyes.
This was a full group, and the people who joined weren’t just here to look around.
They were here to act.
While I won’t share all the details in print, I can tell you that most, if not all, attendees decided to move immediately when they saw the right opportunity for their offshore portfolio.
That’s the level of conviction that happens when you see a deal with your own eyes, meet the team behind it, and run the numbers in real time.
Outside of site visits, we made sure to explore the coastal lifestyle that’s driving so much of this region’s growth.

afternoon beach walk… tough week.
We visited small beach towns where Brazilians are flocking for quality of life and affordable living.
We toured the site of a brand-new development that we’ll be launching to the Expat Money community in September. (No details yet, but when you see it, you’ll understand why I’m so excited.)
We ate fresh shrimp, seafood, and fish daily… and of course had our fair share of Brazil’s famed beef.

Is it just me, or does food taste better alongside the
sounds & smells of the ocean?
Whenever the group had “downtime”, they would walk the beach, relax at the hotel over a drink and solidify friendships that will last a lifetime.
I was not so lucky…
I would keep working.
This is the unglamorous side of these trips that most people never see… but it’s the part that makes the whole experience seamless for the people who come along.
For me, these tours are a chance to give my clients something you can’t get from a PDF or a webinar: a productive, real-life experience that is equal parts business and memory-making.
By the end of the week, everyone had a much deeper understanding of why Brazil’s Northeast is such a compelling market right now… and why being early matters.
The people who come on the tours that I led throughout South America head back home with regional context, confidence, and a network of like-minded people walking the same adventurous path they are.

One of the development sites where the landscape work is still “setting”.
If you want to be the first to hear about the next tour, or keep up with everything my team and I are doing in Brazil and beyond, make sure you’re subscribed to my other newsletters at ExpatMoney.com. That’s where I share the behind-the-scenes work, the early opportunities, and the offshore strategies that never make it to the general public.
I’ll tell you something else: just a few days into this trip, before we’d even finished our first round of site visits, I knew we’d be coming back to Brazil for another Exploration & Investment Tour. Make sure you are subscribed to our newsletters over at ExpatMoney.com so you don’t miss any announcements pertaining to the next tour in Brazil.

Tip: when you join me on a tour, comfortable shoes are a must.
Before I set the date, I need to get back to Panama and sit down with my team so we can plan things out.
But I can promise you this - Brazil is not going to be a “one-and-done” destination for us, tour-wise.
There’s simply too much opportunity here, too much momentum, and too much that I want my clients to see firsthand.
Finally, I have to give a huge thank you to my co-pilot on this trip, Michael Kruger.

For those of you new here, Michael is pictured in the front left!
If you’ve been following my work for a while, you’ve probably heard me talk about Michael and the incredible work he is doing with us here in Brazil’s Northeast.
Seeing him in action on the ground… well, it’s no wonder so many people on this tour have already told me how much they enjoyed working with him.
If you haven’t yet had a conversation about investing in beachfront property in Brazil, Michael is the man to speak with.
You can reach Michael directly at [email protected].
When you speak, I advise you to be ready to act because if Michael tells you a deal is hot and is going to move, he means it.
Well, folks, I’m exhausted, my inbox is overflowing, and yet I’d do it all over again tomorrow because this is what it takes to bring my community the very best opportunities in the world, but for now, that’s all from me.
See you right here in a couple of weeks with a more traditional version of Brazil beachfront.
Speak soon,
Mikkel
